A licensed outdoor wireless link is essentially the same as an License Free Outdoor Wireless. The main difference is that you are required to obtain a license to use a particular channel for transmission.

Why an Outdoor Licensed Wireless Link?

The main advantage of a licensed link over unlicensed is that no other persons are authorized to transmit at the same frequency as you. This reduces the possibility of interference by other unlicensed products.

How does it work?

Licensed wireless technology works essentially the same way as unlicensed equipment.
You will also need to apply for a license via your local communications authority (in Australia this is the Australian Communications Authority, or ACA). Initial application fees apply, and there is usually an ongoing yearly renewal fee.
